NEW DELHI: The Congress launched a web portal, votechori.in/ecdemand, allowing people to register support for Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s demand for digital voter rolls and to hold the Election Commission accountable over alleged “vote chori” (vote theft).

The portal provides downloadable “vote chori” proof, a channel to report alleged voter fraud, and features a video of Gandhi alleging a “huge criminal fraud” in the elections through collusion between the BJP and the Election Commission. Citing a Karnataka constituency analysis, he called it “a crime against the Constitution.” It claims over one lakh fake voters were found in one Assembly segment of Bangalore Central, allegedly aiding BJP’s win, and warns that similar patterns in 70–100 seats could “destroy free elections.”

The message on the portal says Congress and the I.N.D.I.A. bloc have previously raised such alarms, including in Maharashtra, and vows to “fight this vote chori with all our strength.”

Meanwhile, Gandhi and floor leaders of Opposition parties will march from the Parliament House Complex to the ECI office on Monday, seeking to meet the Chief Election Commissioner and the two Election Commissioners.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said in Hindi that “vote theft” is an attack on the fundamental democratic principle of “one person, one vote,” and asserted that a clean voter list is essential for free and fair elections. “Our demand from the Election Commission is clear, show transparency and make the digital voter list public, so that the public and political parties can audit it themselves,” he said. Gandhi urged people to support this demand by registering on votechori.in/ecdemand. “This is a fight to protect democracy,” he added.
