CM Majhi Pitches Odisha As Next Industrial Growth Hub At Ahmedabad Investors’ Meet
Addressing over 500 industry representatives, Majhi said eastern India would drive the next phase of the country’s economic expansion, with Odisha at its core.
Bhubaneswar/Ahmedabad: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday pitched the state as a “next frontier of growth” while leading a high-impact investors’ meet in Ahmedabad, marking a key step in Odisha’s national outreach to attract investments under its Purvodaya vision.
Addressing over 500 industry representatives, Majhi said eastern India would drive the next phase of the country’s economic expansion, with Odisha at its core.
“Odisha is ready for the next chapter of India’s industrial growth. We invite industry to explore, invest and grow with us,” he said, highlighting the state’s focus on scale, speed and strategic access.
The roadshow saw strong participation from industry leaders and business associations. The Chief Minister chaired 26 one-on-one meetings with investors and held sector-specific discussions, including a textile roundtable, aimed at showcasing opportunities and policy support.
Emphasising Odisha’s competitive advantages, Majhi pointed to its long coastline, operational ports and access to the Bay of Bengal and Indo-Pacific trade corridor. He also underlined the state’s push to build integrated industrial ecosystems across sectors rather than relying on a single industry.
Drawing cultural and economic parallels between Odisha and Gujarat, he noted that while Gujarat leads in textiles, Odisha is emerging with a skilled workforce and policy-driven ecosystem.
Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain said Odisha is steadily positioning itself as a future-ready industrial hub backed by robust infrastructure, port-led logistics and stable policies.
The delegation included Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of industries department Hemant Sharma and other senior officials.
The Ahmedabad roadshow is part of Odisha’s continued investor outreach across key cities to strengthen industry engagement and accelerate industrial development.
