Prime minister Narendra Modi— DC File

RAIPUR: The Vishnu Deo Sai cabinet on Sunday passed a resolution hailing prime minister Narendra Modi for completing 25 consecutive years as ‘Head of Government’.

“For us, this is more than an achievement to celebrate. It marks a historic milestone in an extraordinary journey of dedicated service, guided by the principles of ‘Nation First’, public service, good governance, the welfare of the poor and Antyodaya”, the resolution said.

The cabinet has also appreciated the historic decisions taken in the national interest, from GeM and GST, to the abrogation of Article 370, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and the elimination of Naxalism.

Describing elimination of four decades old Leftwing Extremism, as a huge achievement, chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that with this, a new chapter of peace and development has begun in the tribal-dominated Bastar in the state.

“The PM’s vision- the solution to all problems lies in carrying a plough on the shoulder, not a gun- has opened the way for lasting peace and development in Bastar”, Mr. Sai said.

According to the chief minister, the state received special Central assistance of Rs. 2080 crore for the elimination of Naxalism.

Under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’, 15,000 houses have been sanctioned for the surrendered Naxal cadres and Naxal-affected families.

Construction of 5,671 houses is underway.

In terms of improvement of connectivity in Bastar, 267 roads and eight bridges have been completed under the road connectivity project for LWE-affected areas.

Under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, 228 roads are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 699 crore.

A total of 421 schools that had remained closed for years due to Naxal violence, have reopened in Bastar.

With peace taking root, new opportunities in education, healthcare, connectivity and livelihoods are expanding rapidly in Bastar, the chief minister said.
