Chhattisgarh: Raipur Man Slain In Pahalgam Terrorist Attack Cremated Amid Anti-Pak Sentiments
Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, deputy CM, give shoulder to bier
Raipur: Anti-Pak sentiments ran high as the last rites of Raipur-based businessman Dinesh Mirania, who was among 28 tourists slain in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was performed here on Thursday.
Anti-Pakistan slogans rented the air as the mortal remains of the slain businessman were consigned to flames. The mourners were seen spitting on the national flag of Pakistan and then burning it at the cremation ground.
Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai who cut short his visit to Mumbai where he had gone to woo investment for the state visited the bereaved family members of the slain businessman and also gave shoulder to his bier.
“I cut short my visit to Mumbai to pay last respect to the mortal remains of late Mirania. I severely condemn the attack on the innocent people by the terrorists”, Mr. Sai said.
Deputy chief minister Vijay Sharma also took part in the last journey of late Mr. Mirania and gave shoulder to his bier.
A host of ministers in the Vishnu Deo Sai ministry were also present on the occasion.
The businessman along with his wife and two children were present at the spot when the terrorists attacked the tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
In Indore in Madhya Pradesh, MP chief minister Mohan Yadav paid floral tribute to the LIC manager Sushil Nathaniel whose body was flown to his native city on Wednesday night.
Fifty-eight-year-old Nathaniel who was visiting along with his wife, son and daughter to Pahalgam to observe Easter was shot dead by the terrorists when he failed to recite ‘kalam’, as demanded by the militants.
Terrorists sprayed bullets on him when he said “I am a Christian”, his family members, quoting his widow, said.
