Raipur: Chhattisgarh-cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Santosh Kumar Singh has taken charge of Delhi Metro security.

The 2011-batch IPS officer, currently on Central deputation, has taken charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), sources close to him said on Thursday.

He has been assigned with the task of securing the lines and commuters in view of his experience in security management and administrative capabilities.

Prior to his new posting, he had served as DIG, CISF, South Zone-2, Hyderabad.

The police officer previously served as superintendent of police/ senior superintendent of police in nine districts of Chhattisgarh including Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Rajnandgaon, Korea, Raigarh, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, and Kondagaon.

He had served in Leftwing Extremism-hit districts of Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Sukma in Bastar.
