C’garh: College Professor Among 6 Held For B.Sc. (Ag) Question Paper Leak, Endoscopic Camera Used To Capture Questions

RAIPUR: A professor of an agriculture college was among six people, arrested here on Saturday, in connection with the paper leak of the government-run Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) examination.
Yogesh Sonkesariya, professor of Bharti Agriculture College at Durg in Chhattisgarh, who was arrested along with five of his students in connection with the incident, was said to be the mastermind of the paper leak racket, police said.

Two more accused were absconding, police said.
According to the police, the accused professor allegedly inserted an endoscopic camera in the sealed envelope containing a set of question papers of entomology subject of B.Sc. (Ag) second year and then prepared an imitation question paper from the video to sell it to the five students at Rs 11,000 each.
The professor who was given charge by his college to collect question papers and submit answer papers of examinations, conducted by the IGKV, to the university, had on August 17 collected the question papers of the particular subject of B.Sc. (Ag) second year for distribution to the candidates in his college appearing for the exam on August 20.
He had submitted the packets of question papers in the college but allegedly took a packet with him to his home where he punched small holes in the sealed envelope containing the question papers with the help of a needle and inserted the endoscopic camera to take video of the questions, police said.
Preliminary police investigation suggested that he bought the endoscopic camera at Rs 2,500 for the purpose.
The question paper was later made viral on social media, leading the IGKV to know about the paper leak barely two hours before the examination was scheduled to be held between 10 am to 1 pm on August 20.
The university had later cancelled the examination and rescheduled it to the first week of September, following the development.
The university also registered a FIR in the Telibandha police station in Raipur in connection with the incident.
The arrested students were Ajay Nayak (20), Tridev Patel (22), Nitin Pandey (22), Anuj Minz (22) and Aditya Sahu (20).
Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that investigation into the question paper leak case was still in progress.
