Bhopal: A 15-year-old boy, who was part of the band party leading a marriage procession in district headquarters of Sagar in Madhya Pradesh, was on Friday killed when an unidentified youth, consisting the ‘baraati’, opened fire from a country-made pistol in celebration, police said.

The incident took place when the marriage party was going in a procession from Gola Kuan to Saroj Marriage Garden under Moti Nagar police station, police said.

The bullet fired from a country-made pistol pierced the chest of the band boy, identified as Vivek Bansal, leading him to collapse on the spot.

He died on the way to hospital, police said.

A suspect has been detained for interrogation, police said.

Meanwhile, four people were on Friday injured when a speeding truck rammed into a wedding procession in Birra area in Janjgir-Champa in Chhattisgarh, police said on Friday.

The injured who included a local Congress leader, Tarachand Dewangan, were part of the marriage procession.

They were rushed to the local government hospital.

One of them was referred to the hospital in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh when his condition worsened, police said.

The irate mob later caught the driver and thrashed him, according to the police.

The police later rescued the driver and detained him.
