Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born CSM Technologies has secured a US$174,000 (about Rs 1.65 crore) contract from TradeMark Africa to develop a digital platform for real-time monitoring of trade and transport along Mozambique’sstrategic Beira Corridor.

The project will be executed by CSM Tech Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of CSM Technologies Ltd, and is expected to be completed in about 18 months.

The Transport and Trade Observatory (TTO) will integrate data from ports, roads, railways, customs and other systems to track cargo movement, identify delays and bottlenecks, and help authorities make data-driven decisions. The platform will feature interactive dashboards, GIS-based mapping, automated alerts and data analytics.

The Beira Corridor connects Mozambique’s Port of Beira with Zimbabwe and serves trade links with Malawi, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A TradeMark Africa-supported study involving more than 1,000 truck drivers found significant delays around the port and the Machipanda border, with transport costs rising sharply under high-delay conditions.

The project will include a pilot implementation along the Beira-Machipanda route, followed by deployment and 12 months of support and maintenance.

CSM Technologies MD and CEO Priyadarshi Pany said the platform would provide corridor authorities with a shared, data-driven view of trade flows, helping them identify bottlenecks and improve coordination.

The contract strengthens CSM’s presence in Africa, following its work on Kenya’s Electronic Warehouse Receipt System and nationwide Royalty Management System. In India, the company has developed digital mining administration platforms, including i3MS in Odisha and RajMines in Rajasthan.

The CSM assignment reflects the growing international reach of Indian-built digital governance solutions in trade facilitation, logistics and public administration.
