Punjab boy wins hearts and Army’s praise for helping jawans near India-Pakistan border during heightened alert
In a heartwarming gesture, the Indian Army felicitated a 10-year-old boy from Punjab’s border village Tara Wali for his selfless support to jawans deployed during Operation Sindoor along the India-Pakistan border.
Shravan Singh, a resident of the village located near the international border, became a local hero after he extended help to soldiers who had taken positions in his family’s farmland amid heightened alert during Operation Sindoor. The operation was aimed at countering potential threats from across the border and maintaining vigil in sensitive areas.
According to reports, Shravan provided water, milk, lassi, and even ice to the jawans who were braving extreme weather conditions. Despite his young age, Shravan showed maturity and patriotism, ensuring the soldiers had some relief while on duty.
Touched by his act of kindness, Army personnel stationed in the region honoured the boy with a certificate of appreciation and presented him with a token of gratitude. Locals also praised the child’s gesture, calling it a shining example of community support for the armed forces.
Shravan’s contribution during the tense period has made him a symbol of youthful patriotism and earned him admiration across the region.
