Rahul Alleges ‘Live Murder of Democracy’
Polling for the two-phase Bihar Assembly elections concluded on November 11, and results are scheduled to be announced on November 14
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that democracy in India is being “murdered live,” reiterating his allegations of electoral manipulation against the Election Commission (EC) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“Millions of BJP workers are roaming freely across states, casting votes multiple times. To cover up this theft, all evidence is being erased. The BJP and the Election Commission are openly stealing votes, the murder of democracy is unfolding live,” Rahul Gandhi wrote on X.
He shared the post along with a news report citing the poll panel’s submission before the Delhi High Court, which stated that CCTV footage from the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the capital has been destroyed and is no longer available with the district election officers.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also quote-tweeted a Congress post that highlighted an alleged instance of multiple voting across three states, most recently in Bihar, by an X user.
Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly accused the BJP of engaging in “vote chori” (vote theft) in collusion with the Election Commission.
Polling for the two-phase Bihar Assembly elections concluded on November 11, and results are scheduled to be announced on November 14.
