Army Jawans Overstep Landmine At LoC; One Killed, Two Injured

SRINAGAR: An Indian Army Agniveer was killed and two jawans were injured after stepping on a landmine along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday.
A spokesman of the Army’s Nagrota (Jammu)-based 16 Corps, the ‘White Knight Corps’, said that Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 Jat Regiment was killed and two personnel including a junior commissioned officer (JCO) were injured in the blast.
The spokesman said that the casualties occurred while Agniveer Kumar and others were out on an area domination patrol in the general area of Krishna Ghati brigade early Friday.
The Army sources said that injured JCO and sepoy were immediately evacuated to a medical facility and subsequently shifted to a military hospital and that, as per the doctors attending on them, their condition was stable.
