New Delhi: AAP workers and supporters of other parties staged a protest outside the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office at Kashmere Gate on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The protesters raised allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and accused the Election Commission of failing to address concerns raised by Opposition parties.
The demonstration came amid a wider Opposition campaign over the SIR exercise and allegations of “vote chori”, with several I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties stepping up protests in the Capital.
