Noida: 5 Held for Swapping Flipkart, Amazon Orders, Rs 75 Lakh Goods Recovered

Noida: Police have arrested five members of an organised gang allegedly involved in swapping high-value orders placed through Flipkart, Amazon and other e-commerce platforms and recovered stolen goods worth around Rs 75 lakh, an official said on Saturday.

Two other accused are absconding and efforts are underway to trace them, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Saad Miya Khan said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Waris Khan, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Singh, Dharmendra and Suraj Singh, while Bhupendra and Aslam alias Raju Khan are on the run.

"The accused had been cheating customers, sellers and e-commerce companies by replacing expensive products with cheaper or different items during the delivery process," Khan told reporters.

He said the gang had been operating for the past three to four months and targeted orders placed through Flipkart, Amazon and other online shopping platforms.

"After removing the original products, the accused would replace them with low-value goods and later sell the stolen items in the open market," the DCP said.

Police recovered a large quantity of protein supplements, shoes, garments, electronic gadgets, wireless devices for children, ear and blood pressure monitoring machines, smart devices, packing material and tags of online shopping companies during the operation.

"The total value of the recovered goods is estimated at around Rs 75 lakh," Khan said.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed that Waris Khan was the kingpin of the racket.

"Waris Khan, along with his associates, was involved in stealing expensive online orders and selling them. Every member of the gang had a specific role. Some were tasked with stealing the goods, while others were responsible for disposing of them," the officer said.

A case had earlier been registered at Sector 20 police station, following which the police launched the investigation and carried out the arrests.

"Teams are conducting raids to arrest the remaining two accused, and further investigation is underway," Khan added
