41 Pakistani Nationals Leave From Maharashtra, 14 Remain

Mumbai:Maharashtra government officials on Monday confirmed that only 14 Hindu Pakistani nationals are left in Maharashtra and they will also leave by Tuesday. There were 55 Pakistani nationals in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that all the Pakistani nationals have been identified as per description given by the central government.
According to the sources, 16 Hindus are among 55 Pakistani nationals. Of these 55 citizens, 37 Pakistani citizens had left Maharashtra on Monday and four Pakistani citizens including two Hindus had left the state for Pakistan on Tuesday afternoon. 14 Hindu Pakistani citizens are still in Maharashtra.
According to the Home Department’s data, 5,023 Pakistani citizens are currently on long term visas in the state. They did not leave the state as the central government has directed all state governments to send back the Pakistani nationals, who are on short term visas.
Officials said that there are no instructions for those Pakistan nationals, who are on Long term Visa including diplomats and officials.
The Maharashtra government had issued 55 Pakistan nationals notice to leave the county.
When asked how many Pakistani nationals have left the state, Mr. Fadnavis said, “Those Pakistan citizens, who are expected to leave India, have been identified and contacted. They are also being tracked. As per the categorisation by the central government, we have traced all Pakistani citizens. Not a single one has been left out.”
When contacted, Dr Iqbal Singh Chahal, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Home department, said, “Only 14 Pakistan nationals are currently remaining in Maharashtra. They will depart soon."
