Weddings are a time to bring families together. It can also be a time many relatives dread having to be in the same room with each other.

It seems that just may be how Prince Phillip feels about having to attend his granddaughter Princess Eugenie's wedding, the Daily Mail reported.

Eugenie's mother is Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, who has had bad relations with the royal family for years.

The bad blood between them has stemmed from a series of scandals, much of it involving her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

Many reports allege the Duke of Edinburgh is not too keen on running in to the mother-of-he-bride at the wedding.

"He does what he wants. He made a supreme effort for Harry," a source is quoted as saying by People. "I would be very surprised if he did go, because he is so estranged from Fergie. I think he will decide at the 99th hour."

Fergie and Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s third child, were married in 1986 and divorced in May 1996.

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank, a former manager of a popular London nightclub, is set to take place on October 12 this year.

1,200 members of the public will be invited attend their wedding at Windsor Castle.
