Artforms under one roof

Rana Daggubati has set up a unique center in Hyderabad which is going to be the first of its kind in India. Almost all art forms, including painting, dance, music, theater, drawing, yoga, woodwork, among many others, will be displayed and hosted under one roof at the center. By the means of his Amar Chitra Katha Learning Center, Rana Daggubati intends to bring back Indian tales to the people.

“When I was 10 years old, my mother had given me these Amar Chitra Katha books, and those books happen to be my fondest childhood memories. Eventually, I realised that these were not just comic books, they were actually carriers of our ethos and values. That is why I’ve decided to be a part of the Amar Chitra Katha venture,” said Rana Daggubati. He, along with Kishore Biyani and Amar Chitra Katha, has set up this unique learning center next to Rama Naidu studios.

Rana’s aspires to bring back the forgotten stories. “People have forgotten real Indian literature, and we can truly aspire to bring back our heritage and culture through the Amar Chitra Katha Learning Center,” he said.

“It took us 10 months to understand and then another six months to build it,” he says. Nearly thirteen years back, the actor produced a children’s film called A Belly Full of Dreams and now, after all these years, he has set up this center. “I want to do so much, but there is a right time for everything. When I made that film, in fact, releasing it was quite a struggle. Now that I am recognised as an actor, people will listen. Therefore, I have started this center and will see how it goes before I plan my next step,”he said.
