Kochi has news every rider loves to hear. The city, in May, plays host to a mega motorbike jamboree for two days bringing a never-before-seen line-up of bikes from in and around the world. Over a 100 super bikes, vintage bikes, custom bikes, two stroke bikes, and more than 40 accessories brands are being showcased at the Liqui Moly Motorbike Fest at CIAL Convention Centre on May 5 and 6.

“It is an event so huge that we bring several different vehicles to the show. The motorbikes are fetched from various parts of the state and vintage bikes are imported ones. Probably for the first time people get to see many of them. Interactive events such as go-karting festival and a professional stunt show are arranged,” says Khais Rahman, managing director of LRL Motors, the organiser.

The event will also see a musical evening courtesy DJ Diego Miranda, coming down all the way from Portugal. Miranda is in the 58th spot among the top 100 DJs of the world, picked by the DJ Magazine, a British monthly on electronic dance music and DJs. To pep up the show, there’s a South African artiste on board together with two Malayali DJs.

More than a celebration and coming together of the world’s best motorbikes, the event promotes responsible riding. There will also be a workshop on bike customisation. “It is illegal to customise bikes in India. We offer something like a workshop to bring awareness on safe customisation and do a video campaign. A racing academy is one of our plans too,” says Khais.

The sprawling venue has the capacity to accommodate an audience of 50,000 people. Free tickets could be accessed via the Facebook event page Liqui Moly Motorbike Fest.
