Kashyap clarified they were just good friends.
Badminton player Parupalli Kashyap on Friday refuted rumours linking him up with fellow shuttler and former World No.1 Saina Nehwal after the latter posted a photo of the two on her Instagram account post returning from the Commonwealth Games with two gold medals earlier this week.
Following the post, fans, followers and a section of the media began to paint a romantic picture of Saina and Kashyap, with some even asking about their marriage plans.
However, Kashyap clarified they were just good friends. “There’s no truth to the story,” he said. “She posted a picture of us and after that I got a lot of calls from people asking me if we were a pair,” he laughed before adding, “We have been very good friends for a long time but are not in a relationship.”
