Shruti received accolades for her first look in the Treadstone trailer.

Actress Shruti Haasan who received accolades for her recently released US network series Treadstone, expounds thoughts about the web series and her upcoming music album.

Actor Shruti Haasan was portrayed as Nira Patel in the web series Treadstone, which is based in the Jason Bourne universe. She plays the role of a young woman in Delhi whose job as a waitress serves as cover for a dangerous double life as a trained assassin.

Speaking about her role, Shruti says, “It was very new and amazing experience working with some talented technicians during the series. I enjoyed the whole process of shooting with the crew.”  

Shruti received accolades for her first look in the Treadstone trailer. Though she has only a guest appearance in the series, she has performed some daredevil action stunts, which are part of the trailer and have been hugely appreciated.

“It was a single stunt sequence in the series and I really enjoyed doing it. Though I have a extended cameo in the show, it’s a character that drives the story forward,” she relishes.

The show will follow fictional CIA black ops program Operation Treadstone, which was the program that created superspy Jason Bourne, played by actor Matt Damon in four films.

Apart from Treadstone, Shruti has been tirelessly juggling between her acting and music career. Having taken a break from acting for a while, Shruti concentrated on writing songs, producing music with artistes in the UK and even performed live a few times on stage there. Simultaneously, she is working on her debut album which will be releasing soon.

“My music album will be an autobiography. It will deal with the struggles I went through in my career and the efforts to overcome that which attained my success,” explains Shruti.

She will be performing 7-8 gigs again in UK during the months of November and December.  “It feels incredible to be back on stage performing. I have done a few shows  last year but now the effort is to do more music-focused gigs internationally, London being the start point,” said the actress-singer.

Shruti will soon resume work for her next Tamil film Laabam with Vijay Sethupathi and is very excited to act in this role directed by SP Jananathan.

As an actress, Shruti has become prominent in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films and has juggled all three industries at once rather successfully.
