Chennai turns 380 years old on August 22 and the Chennaiites definitely have an obsession over their native city for many things.

I have fallen in love with the city. People are friendly and easy to communicate with. I am fascinated by Chennai’s metro. The people of Chennai are very helpful. I can depend on anyone for anything. It’s similar to my country in many ways mainly the dress sense.”

The most important thing is that the people here are good and kind. They are very comfortable to move along with. In Chennai, I have had a cultural experience which has been different from my country and I am loving it.

I came to Chennai two years ago, and I like this city especially because although it’s a modern city, it continues to be traditional in many ways (that’s not the case with every city). Traditional dance, music and other art forms are popular here, and are an essential part of the city. I also love the old architecture of temples like the Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore which adds to the richness of the city”.

Chennai is a crowded city- shopping malls, restaurants and even beaches are overcrowded especially on weekends.  It’s comparatively clean and pollution free. The people are helpful here. But they are also conservative.

It’s when I am riding around the city with my green cycle that I like Chennai the most: whether it’s cycling to the beach, or to just sit and talk with friends, or at Chepauk Stadium to watch CSK play, or going to St. Thomas Mount for airplane-spotting; it gives a beautiful view of the city. The traffic is chaotic - but the city is a beautiful one!

India including Chennai, is very diverse. People of Chennai are of course calm, peaceful and helpful. I have made a lot of good friends here. The city itself is well developed regarding the technologies and infrastructure.
