At 97, UK's Prince Philip has become a godfather, the Daily Mail reported.

The Duke of Edinburgh was made a godparent to the child of Thomas and Alexandra Hooper, daughter of Earl Mountbatten, who is the grandson of Philip’s uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten, the report revealed.

The christening was held on Friday in Romsey Abbey, Hampshire.

After the celebration, Prince Philip flew to Sandringham where he has been spending most of his time since retiring from his royal duties in 2017.

Prince Charles also gave 35-year-old Alexandra away when she married Thomas in June 2016.
