The tensions between India and Pakistan don’t seem to be receding anytime soon as reports of disturbances at the border continue to plague relationships between the two neighbouring nations. But there are people on both sides of the border who are still keeping a hope for peace alive amid all the darkness.

While tales of cross border weddings and a boy’s interaction with his interaction with an Indian friend across the LOC ward away negativity, an Indian girl is now trying really hard to bring her best friend from Pakistan to India to be her bridesmaid in December.

Purvi Thacker wrote in a Facebook post how she was heartbroken when Sarah Munir’s visa application was rejected. She said that she has visited Pakistan and Sarah has also been to India in the past and that they never saw each other as Indian or Pakistani until the governments remind them of it.

She asked people to share her post and hopes that the “right people” will take notice of her request and help the friends reunite on Purvi’s wedding.
