No 90s child, who had cable TV at home would ever be able to forget the very energetic Shenaz Treasury. The much-loved VJ used to host the show MTV’s Most Wanted, which was a popular one during the day. Shenaz was in Kerala as part of an event. A freewheeling chat with the charming lady threw open her love for travel and gave us a peek into her works.  “I have been travelling for a while now. I love travelling,” she says, adding, “I’ve been covering all four corners of the country in connection with promoting sustainable and responsible tourism. So not only am I just travelling, I am travelling responsibly.” How exactly is she doing that? “I am travelling to different places and talking to people about travelling litter-free, observing the wildlife and respecting the host. For example, I am in Kerala and you are the host and I respect you. It’s basically about being a responsible tourist,” she explains.

As part of the campaign, Shenaz is active on various social media platforms, vlogs and blogs and uploads photographs.  Shenaz is currently a part of the very popular show Brown Nation on Netflix also. She elaborates, “I was in New York and coincidentally met the show’s director Abi Varghese at a bar. I happened to meet him on the streets the very next day as well. They said they have a great idea and told me about it and Brown Nation just happened like that.” She stars as Dimple in the American comedy-drama series. Shenaz, who was last seen in Delhi Belly, quips, “Everything in my life happened by coincidence. Even my role in Delhi Belly.”

Speaking about moving on from being one of the most popular VJs of the country, she says, “Actually, the transition from VJing to what I am doing now was pretty smooth. Right now, what I do is to make small vlogs and upload it on my social media handles. The only difference was that back then I had a producer and I was just the host. Now, I myself am the producer. I come up with the creative and I am the host as well. Hosting is pretty natural to me since I was doing it as a kid.”  In Kerala, Shenaz will travel to Fort Kochi, Kodungallur (Muziris), and Kumarakom as part of the campaign to promote and raise awareness about responsible tourism organised by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and Ola.
