Ever since I was a kid, I’ve heard so much about Kerala, its people and beauty. I finally got a chance to visit the state capital Thiruvananthapuram to perform at a show and was absolutely captivated by its splendour and delicious food.
Visit the Padmanabhaswamy temple
This is the only temple in India with Lord Vishnu — the deity in an eternal sleep posture. This holy place is a must-visit. It’s also known for being one of the 108 abodes of Vishnu and is embellished by murals and stone carvings.

Go to Kovalam Beach
This beach is a favourite tourist spot and it reminded me a bit of Goa. With a long coastline, a lighthouse on the shore, clear waters and a faraway horizon — this place is utterly gorgeous. You can indulge in activities like sunbathing, snorkeling, catamaran rides and cycling.

Shanghumukham Beach
The silvery white sand, a never-ending coastline and tranquil waters make this place serene. The Jalakanyaka mermaid sculpture is an added attraction. With various food kiosks, I thought this beach was the perfect place to spend a quiet evening by the sea.

Varkala Beach
This one is famous for being under a cliff and offers a breath-taking view of the Arabian Sea. I felt like there was divinity in the air with the presence of a temple in the vicinity. There are also areas with black sand here.

Buhari hotel
No trip is complete without relishing some delectable local cuisine. If you're a food lover and want to beat the hot, humid weather, then you should totally try the coconut milk shake at Buhari. It's chilled and refreshing and that's not the only variety of shake available here. I can safely say that it's the most amazing milkshake I've had in my life!
