A young Border Collie had a near death experience after swallowing a six-inch wooden kebab stick, the Daily Mail reported.

The stick pierced two-year-old Sweep's stomach and lung and caused 'life threatening' internal injuries. He was even left blind because his brain was not receiving enough oxygen.

It took vets at Dick White Referrals in Cambridgeshire, England, nearly six hours to save him.

After surgery, Sweep began to slowly recover and began to eat normally after five days.

He has now back home with his family in Harlow.
