Where Is Hyderabad Ringing in the New Year This Time
From quiet dinners to high-energy countdowns, Hyderabad’s hotels are setting the tone for how the city welcomes the New Year.
New Year’s Eve in Hyderabad has never been a one-size-fits-all affair. Some want the music loud and the dance floor packed, others prefer a long dinner, good conversation and a calm countdown. This year, the city’s hotels are leaning into that diversity, offering everything from understated evenings and global food journeys to palace-style galas and open-air resort parties.
At ITC Kakatiya, the idea is not to box the night into a single theme but to let guests decide how they want to celebrate. As the hotel marks 30 years in the city, the focus is on choice and familiarity rather than spectacle. “As ITC Kakatiya celebrates 30 years of warm hospitality, this New Year’s Eve is also a moment of gratitude—to thank our patrons for their continued support over three decades. Without their relentless support we would not have lived the test of time. ITC Kakatiya has an old world charm, however in a new avatar post-renovation of all the rooms, banquets, and main porch area. Understated luxury and ‘Hush-pitality’ i.e. quiet hospitality with all the noise cut out – is what we have as an offering this year,” says Abhishekh Menon, General Manager.
That understated mood reflects in how the evening unfolds — guests can move between Dakshin, Kebabs & Kurries and Deccan Pavilion for festive menus, while Marco Polo Bar hosts a DJ-led night with Sharon Aamir and a dedicated dance floor. Midnight here is acknowledged simply, with a shared countdown before the music resumes.
Across town in the financial district, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel is taking guests on a very different journey. Inspired by London’s streets and landmarks, its “Ticket to London” theme is about recreating a global city vibe within the hotel. “At Sheraton, we aim to create shared moments that bring communities together. The ‘Ticket to London’ theme allows us to reimagine a global city experience within our spaces while staying rooted in our ethos of hospitality and connection,” says Subhankar Bose.
The evening plays out across venues — Pan-Asian flavours with a London pub twist at Zega, live counters and a multi-cuisine buffet at Feast, and imported liquor pours at the Open Sky rooftop. Entertainment shifts gears as the night progresses, with Bollywood DJs, live bands and singers, building up to a synchronized countdown, with the rooftop offering city views and fireworks as the clock strikes twelve.
For those looking to step into something far more regal, Taj Falaknuma Palace is hosting “A Royal Prelude to the New Year.” The celebration draws deeply from the Palace’s history, blending heritage-led décor and cultural performances with contemporary touches. “The idea is to create a celebration that feels authentic to the Palace, where heritage, culture, and contemporary elements come together seamlessly,” says Vijay Partap Shrikent, Area Director – Operations and General Manager.
A gala dinner on the Palace Main Lawn anchors the night, with a spread that pays homage to Hyderabad’s culinary roots — from Kachche Gosht ki Biryani and Pathar ka Gosht to Dum ki Macchi — alongside international grills, Asian specialties and interactive stations. Classical welcome dances and Sufi Qawwali set the tone early on, before live bands and a DJ take over as midnight approaches, marked by a collective countdown against the illuminated Palace backdrop.
If an open-air resort escape feels more your speed, Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa is positioning its New Year’s Eve as a “HYDaway.” Hosted on the Cassia Lawn, the celebration blends high-energy music with the relaxed rhythm of a resort evening. Amandeep Singh Grover, General Manager, describes it as a night designed to balance celebration and unwinding, with a strong family-friendly focus.
Food here becomes an interactive global journey, with multiple live stations and unlimited premium beverages, while the bar acts as a social hub with premium spirits, fine wines and craft cocktails. A dedicated kids’ buffet and activity zone ensure younger guests are part of the celebration too. Entertainment builds steadily, starting with a live performance by Lokesh Madan, followed by high-energy sets from DJ Piyush. Midnight arrives with a dedicated countdown clock, drawing everyone together before the party rolls on.
Back in the city, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre is spreading its celebrations across spaces and moods. Okra hosts a festive dinner with signature cocktails and a generous buffet, while Altitude adds rooftop views, pass-around delicacies and premium beverages to the mix. Bidri offers a quieter, more refined evening with a set menu, unlimited beverages and a live ghazal performance. The celebrations don’t end at midnight either — New Year’s Day begins with a lavish brunch at Okra. “This time of year is especially meaningful for us as it brings together our guests, our associates, and our community in moments of celebration and shared joy,” says Amardeep Singh, General Manager, reflecting on the season.
At Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, the celebration looks up — quite literally. The theme, “Under the Stars,” is designed to feel open, elegant and human, with festivities unfolding under the night sky. The idea is to slow down, look up and welcome the New Year with optimism and connection, staying true to Novotel’s philosophy of balanced living.
Food takes centre stage here, with a menu that moves across regions and cultures — Telangana flavours, North West Frontier cuisine, Arabic influences and Italian classics. From amuse-bouche to handcrafted ravioli and slow-cooked lamb shank, the experience is meant to feel like a journey rather than a single meal. Entertainment remains intentionally gentle and immersive, with in-house singer Carolina performing across spaces through the evening, building from soulful melodies to celebratory rhythms. As midnight arrives, she leads the countdown, bringing guests together for a simple, shared moment under the stars.
At Trident, Hyderabad, the night is shaped around feeling rather than form. Guided by Joy in Red, the celebration leans into warmth, togetherness, and instinctive hospitality.
“At Trident, Hyderabad celebrations are about people coming together and feeling looked after. For New Year’s Eve, our focus is on service that feels natural and attentive, so guests can relax, enjoy their conversations, and ease into the new year,” says Praveen Dubey, Director – Food & Beverage.
Food here unfolds at an unhurried pace. Tuscany’s Italian set menu moves gently from lighter beginnings to handmade pastas and composed mains. Kanak brings Awadhi and North Indian flavours to the table through kebabs, slow-cooked curries, breads, and pulao, while Amara’s global buffet offers flexibility and movement through the evening. “When guests are celebrating something like New Year’s Eve, food should feel comforting and generous. We have designed the menus to flow naturally, complemented by service that allows people to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed,” says Chef Gurmeet Bhamra, Executive Chef.
Music mirrors the mood of each space—live music at Amara energises the room without overpowering conversation, Tuscany keeps things easy and conversational, while Kanak’s live ghazals invite guests to slow down. Midnight arrives quietly within each restaurant, marked by music, attentive service, and the shared energy of the room.
Whether it’s a quiet dinner, a dance-heavy night, a palace gala or a resort-style escape, Hyderabad’s New Year’s Eve plans reflect one thing clearly — the city knows how to celebrate on its own terms, leaving room for every kind of welcome to the year ahead.
