Hyderabad: The Millet Food Fest was held at Minerva Banquet Halls, Madhapur, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, organized by the Millets National Media Portal. The event celebrated an inspiring blend of nutrition, empowerment, and innovation as more than 50 Millet Mothers and over 100 health and food enthusiasts came together to promote millet-based wellness and sustainable living.

The program was graced by several notable guests, including Dr. Saurabh Surekha, Head Millet Coach Pooja Lakhatia, Dr. Giridhar, Dr. Monika, Advocate Shrestha, and Chartered Accountant Praveen, who appreciated the initiative’s focus on community-led nutrition and holistic health awareness.
The Millet Mothers Program was launched under the visionary leadership of Mr. Prasanna Srinivas Sarakadam, Chairman of MBF – Millets, The Best Food and Millet National Media Portal, with the goal of empowering homemakers through professional millet-based culinary training. Over the past few months, Millet Mothers have learned more than 10 innovative and healthy millet recipes from national-level millet coaches and showcased their creations during the festival.
Each participating Millet Mother presented her dishes for tasting and feedback from attendees. Based on the results, two exceptional participants will soon be recognized as “Model Millet Mothers”, each receiving a cash award of ₹1,00,000. These winners will also serve as mentors, inspiring and guiding other Millet Mothers to promote millet-based nutrition in their communities.
Adding a new milestone to MBF’s health and wellness mission, Mr. Prasanna Srinivas Sarakadam announced the launch of a Mega Millet Wellness Walkathon, to be held on December 7, 2025, in Hyderabad. The walkathon aims to unite over 1,000 health enthusiasts from various backgrounds for a holistic wellness experience from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., featuring walking, yoga, meditation, health talks, wellness guidance, free health check-ups, and a nutritious millet breakfast.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasanna Srinivas Sarakadam said, “Millets are not just food; they are a path to wellness, sustainability, and empowerment. Through initiatives like the Millet Mothers Program and the Millet Wellness Walkathon, we aim to build a nationwide movement that inspires every family to embrace millets for better health and a better planet. Our vision is to see every kitchen turn into a wellness lab and every individual become a health ambassador.”
The Millet Wellness Walkathon is expected to become a landmark wellness initiative, encouraging participation from students, homemakers, professionals, senior citizens, and fitness enthusiasts alike. Mr. Sarakadam also extended an open invitation to hospitals, healthcare organizations, and wellness brands to collaborate with MBF – Millets, The Best Food to make this health mission a grand success.
With initiatives such as the Millet Mothers Program and the Millet Wellness Walkathon, MBF continues to lead India’s Millet Revolution, spreading health, awareness, and empowerment — one step, and one meal, at a time.
