Every person has a unique personality and is distinguished from others based on some personality traits. But while everyone has their own individual characteristics, some human emotions dominate the psyche of most human beings.

A new study seems to have decoded the most common attribute that is associated with the psyche of most people across the globe, and the findings suggest that it’s jealousy which is a personality trait found among one third of the human population.

The study was based on responses of 541 people in Spain and 90% of the population can be divided into four categories which are optimistic, pessimistic, trusting and envious.

While 30% of the participants were found to be envious, optimists were 20% among the group and the same goes for pessimists, while 20% were trusting and 10% were undefined.

Researchers said that the results go against the notion that human beings purely act based on rationality and that the study can add a lot to existing theories on human behaviour.
