Kidneys are vital organs important for survival and living a healthy life. While kidney transplants are used help people lead a healthy life, for some people they can become a way of life.

Darren Ferguson from Britain was born with a blocked kidney and was diagnosed with chronic key stage five renal failure. He got his first transplant when he was just five and since then has had to go through the same process every five to ten years.

While doctors said he was unlikely to have children, Darren defied all obstacles and went on to live a fulfilling life. His family has nicknamed him Robocop because of the device he needs to stay alive.

Darren has had five kidney transplant and none of them have been removed since his body dissolves them. Meanwhile he has no idea how many of the organs are still inside.
