Balrampur: The police here have registered an FIR against an alleged quack and sealed his clinic after a girl's hand had to be amputated due to his treatment, the police said today.

A case was registered yesterday against the quack, Vasudev, who is at large. His clinic in Gaur village has been sealed, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pramod Kumar said.

The officer said that the case was registered on a complaint by the girl's father alleging that his daughter's hand had to amputated after Vasudev's treatment.

Chief Medical Officer Ghanshyam Singh said that during a probe, the charges were found to be true and the clinic was sealed.
