Colours welcome kids at Thrissur hospital

The newly-designed ward will be inaugurated at a function to be held at the St Thomas block at 2.30 p.m. on December 6.

Thrissur: The Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute has painted its new paediatric ward on the basis of a concept called ‘colour therapy.’    The paintings of  plants and creatures done by  noted writer and painter Gayathri  in the spread over 12,000 feet   create a jovial ambience for the kids being treated there, said  hospital authorities.

“It has been proved scientifically that through ‘colour therapy’ the physical and mental illnesses of children could be reduced and research  on this is  going on,” said Fr. Francis Pallikkunathu, director of the medical college. The newly-designed ward will be inaugurated  at  a function to be held at the  St Thomas block  at 2.30 p.m. on December 6.
