A 56-year-old father-of-two who is terminally ill is set on a challenge to visit 50 countries before he dies.

In 2014, Ron Flewett, from Lincolnshire (UK), was diagnosed with lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a silent killer, according to the Daily Mail. When he learned he only had three years to live, his world was shattered and his wife was heartbroken.

When reality sunk in, they decided to make a list of what he wanted to do in life. So they created a spread-sheet of countries to visit. 'There has always been so many places I've wanted to see, it was just a case of trying to get around to seeing them as quickly as possible," Ron told the Daily Mail.

Flewett has already crossed 33 locations off his list. Caribbean, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are just some of the places he's visited so far. He has reportedly spent £20,000 on his adventures and has 12 more places he wants to see. They include Iceland, Alaska and Colombia.

Ron told the Daily Mail he hopes to see as much as he can before the disease take over him. "I want to get as many done as possible by February because I don't know what my health situation will be by then."

While going on the memorable journey, Ron is also doing his part in raising awareness about the disease.
