Television personality Anu Hasan is making her digital debut with Get Set Cook, the first YouTube cookery show to be hosted by a South Indian celebrity. This 12-episode series started airing on JFW’s YouTube channel on February 5th.
Anu, who has made a mark in the worlds of broadcast, cinema and print, believes the time is now right to step into the digital streaming platform, because she feels everyone is on the move and their worlds are on their phone.
Anu is a foodie, and her whole family wholeheartedly enjoys food. She remembers days spent cooking with her mother in the backyard of their house in Trichy and it is the joy of that time that she wants to spread through Get Set Cook.
Talking about the show, Anu says “just as the name suggests, there is a snappiness to it, there is an excitement to it and there is a fun element to it.” Through the show, she aims to highlight the fun side of cooking. Get Set Cook will showcase a range of authentic South Indian recipes using readily available ingredients that everyone can make easily. Look out for Anu’s personal favourites — the Mutton Sukka and the Malabar Prawn Curry.
