While our skin deserves a rigorous cleanse every now and then, Summertime detox is indispensable. And the first step towards healthier looking skin is the religious usage of sunscreen.

No matter where you are headed, slathering generous amounts of sunscreen (of at least SPF 30 or more) is strictly recommended — whether indoors or outdoors. The higher the SPF, the higher is the protection offered.

A good skin care routine starts with the usage of a desired cleanser, followed by adequate moisturising. If you have oily skin make sure you use lotion form or a water-based product or a sunscreen that says it is non-comedogenic.

If you have dry skin, a cream-based formulation is recommended. Also to be noted is that Vitamin D synthesis in the body needs sunlight, so the best time to get some sun would be from 7 am to 10 am.

To prevent the harmful rays of the sun from getting to you, use sunscreen even while you are out to get your daily Vit D intake. But a large number of people forgo this arduous important process  every time they step out, and now a new-age technique has come to our rescue — Yes, we’re talking about the advent of sunscreen tablets!

Widely available in India, these tablets offer more protection against the sun rays. In fact, it’s a very important step to begin your skin detox with.  Anyone can use these post a consultation.

These tablets are strongly recommended for those who are prone to pigmentation problems like Melasma, have sensitive skin and  have undergone dermatological procedures like lasers, chemical peels and the like.

Owing to the presence of high anti-oxidant agents like Vit C and carotenoids, sunscreen tablets are preffered over sunscreen creams. It also contains  natural agents found in algae and ferns that have interesting anti-oxidant qualities. Moreover, a sunscreen tablet is an easier form of protection — isn’t erased by physical factors and doesn’t need re-application. So this season, try the tab!
