The Hyderabad planting is a step towards substantial positive environmental impact by FedEx Cares

Hyderabad : FedEx Corp. the world’s largest express transportation company, announced the successful planting of 1,200 native, climate-resilient trees on the IIIT Campus in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. This initiative, executed in collaboration with One Tree Planted and part of the global community engagement program FedEx Cares, significantly advances FedEx’s conservation goals in India.

The Hyderabad planting is a key part of a larger effort that has supported the planting of over 23,000 trees across 2.2 hectares in India. This conservation effort is projected to have a substantial positive environmental impact, benefiting more than 15,000 people in the surrounding communities. Over time, the planted trees are estimated to remove and store approximately 466* metric tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, contributing significantly to climate change mitigation.

Beyond strengthening environmental resilience, the project also served as an educational experience for FedEx team members and community volunteers, highlighting the critical importance of biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and community-led conservation.
