Grand Sri Jagannatha Ratha Yatra to Be Held by Hare Krishna Movement on July 19, 2026

The Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad, proudly announces the first-ever Sri Jagannatha Ratha Yatra in Kokapet, to be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, celebrating India's timeless spiritual and cultural heritage.


This sacred procession will feature the beautifully adorned Deities of Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra traveling from The Trilight, Golden Mile Layout Road, Kokapet, through the streets of Kokapet and past Rajapushpa Atria, to the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower, Narsingi–Kokapet, in a majestic Ratha. Hundreds of devotees are expected to participate enthusiastically throughout the route, accompanied by devotional music, kirtans, and large-scale community participation.

Ratha Yatra Event Highlights

5:00 PM – The festivities commence at The Trilight, Golden Mile Layout Road, Kokapet, featuring Hare Krishna kirtans followed by the inaugural puja of Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra seated on their beautifully decorated Ratha.

5:20 PM – Dignitaries will conduct the traditional Prathama Arati and the ceremonial brooming of the Ratha route, followed by Arati to Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra.

5:30 PM – The enchanting Ratha Yatra begins with the ceremonial first pull of the Ratha, following the teachings of ISKCON Founder-Acharya Srila Prabhupada, after which devotees will joyfully pull the chariot amidst melodious bhajans and kirtans.

5:30 PM – 7:30 PM – The Ratha procession will move through the streets of Kokapet, passing Rajapushpa Atria and Golden Mile Road, before reaching Hare Krishna Heritage Tower. Residents along the route will have the opportunity to take darshan of the Deities and participate in pulling the Ratha of Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra.

7:30 PM – The Ratha Yatra reaches Hare Krishna Heritage Tower, Narsingi, featuring mega kirtans and a special pravachan by His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President, Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad, and Regional President, Akshaya Patra (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh).

8:00 PM – The event concludes with the final Arati to Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra, followed by Dinner Prasadam.

Releasing the Ratha Yatra poster and event details, His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji extended a warm invitation to all devotees, families, and well-wishers to participate in the celebrations, pull the Ratha, and receive the divine blessings of Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra.

Quoting the Padma Purana, which states that simply seeing the Lord on the chariot helps one progress toward liberation from the cycle of birth and death, Prabhuji urged devotees and the public to come forward and be part of this historic occasion.

The Ratha Yatra program will be presided over by His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President, Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad, and Regional President, Akshaya Patra (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh). The event will also be attended by esteemed congregation members, youth, and well-wishers from across the state.
