V. Mallikarjun, one of the most familiar voices in contemporary Telugu literature, is set to return to fiction after a five-year gap with his new novel Oka Endakalapu Madhyanam, scheduled for release on Tuesday, December 23. The announcement has generated keen interest among Telugu literature enthusiasts who have closely followed his work over the years. The book will be launched at Stall No. 356 at the ongoing Hyderabad Book Fair at NTR Stadium.

From Irani Cafe to Kagitam Padavalu, from Nalgonda Kathalu to Nani Gadu, Mallikarjun’s writing has always carried the warmth of lived experience.deeply loved by readers who find their own lives reflected in his words.
His stories never shout; they sit beside the reader, gently unfolding emotions, memories, and truths that feel personal. Over the years, he has become not just a contemporary Telugu writer, but a companion to thousands of readers.
Beyond his work as an author, Mallikarjun has played a significant role in Telugu publishing. He was the former founder of Aju Publications, a publishing house that gained recognition for its contribution to contemporary Telugu literature. One of its most notable achievements was the publication of Amma Dairy Lo Konni Pagelu, a book that sold over two lakh copies within a span of two years, a rare milestone in the Telugu publishing industry. Aju Publications also brought out several other notable works, strengthening its reputation as a platform for meaningful literature.
Recently, Mallikarjun stepped down as co-founder of Aju Publications and launched a new publishing venture titled Premalu Pusthakaalu. The move marks a new phase in his literary journey, reflecting his continued commitment to books and writers, even as he takes on independent publishing responsibilities.
During the last four years, Mallikarjun remained largely away from writing fiction, occupied with publishing-related duties and literary support work. His return with Oka Endakalapu Madhyanam is therefore seen as a significant moment by readers who have been awaiting new creative work from the author.
