The thing with art is that, when you start out, you have an idea in your mind.

At the age of three, Sachind John started his artistic journey by using his imagination to draw fish. And by the age of nine, Sachind drew a rooster so well for an assignment, that his teacher was convinced that it was traced! As a kid, he used water colours to bring out the beauty of his creations, but now uses acrylic on canvas.

Sachind is displaying 40 of his works at the Sublime Art Gallery at UB City in Colourful Thoughts, out of which 11, are photographs and five, are glass paintings.

“The thing with art is that, when you start out, you have an idea in your mind. But more often than not, it ends up as something completely different from what you had imagined. I thought so many of them were terrible during the process, but they turned out fine in the end,” says the content artist.

Like any other creative person, Sachind too takes pleasure in doing new and innovative things. “I like to go with the flow, wherever my imagination takes me. For my very first painting, titled The Single Eye, I was inspired by three scriptures that brought out different ideas of creation and God,” explains the artiste whose paintings display sharp themes of realism, surrealism, cubism and even abstract art.

Apart from his artwork, Sachind is also known for his innovative logo designer. “A friend needed a logo for his company and I offered to design it for him,” he says and has since, designed numerous logos for companies including ISRO. And when he isn’t painting, Sachind is writing our certificates in calligraphy for colleges.

“A nine to five job doesn’t suit me as I’m a creative person. I have always wanted to do my own thing and can’t sit at a desk for that long. But right now, I’m enjoying the process, even though it does get exhausting at times,” he concludes.

The exhibition is on till July 2 at Sublime Art Gallery.
