VIJAYAWADA: Nearly 1500 students in AP have completed the certification course on Data Sciences under an initiative of the state skill development corporation (APSSDC), its chairman Ajay Reddy said on Wednesday.

APSSDC organised the course as part of the Indo Euro Synchronization efforts. These students were drawn from the government and private universities and private engineering colleges across the districts.

Some 3000 engineering students across the state were trained in the fields of Robotics, Smart Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Data sciences & e-mobility and other emerging technologies. The unique German method of project-based learning is implemented at their Applied Robotics Control Centres (ARC).

Madhusudhan Reddy, adviser to SD&T, said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was tech savvy and helped the state grow in the areas of new technology. He congratulated all the participant teams for the Data Science Hackathon.

The ‘Indo Euro Sync and German University’ president Raj Vangapandu said the company has been imparting and up-skilling the new age skills by setting up the Advanced Data Science cluster in AP. Raj explained the benefits of Hackathons, saying students can not only improve their coding and soft skills but also stand out from others during placements.

Along with coding skills, students will improve their creativity, presentation skills, teamwork and adaptability. They can include their hackathon experience in their CV for greater visibility among recruiters and boost their employability chances, he said.
