Nirmala Sitharaman to open IIFT centre today

KAKINADA: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) inside the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University campus here on Friday. The institute has started academics from the current year.

AP government has allotted 25 acres of land for establishing IIFT at Ponnda village in U. Kothapalli mandal within Kakinada Special Economic Zone.

Institute authorities have, however, started the first year classes at the temporary building allotted to IIFT in the JNTU-K campus.

The G+2 building has 3,000 sq ft area on each floor. Creating accommodation for carrying out the academic activities is expected to cost ₹3.57 crore.
