Sunit has introduced a solution to the privacy issue faced while using other email service providers, and it is called Letter.

Email is the most professional way for a business to send messages. No matter how many alternatives there are like Messenger or WhatsApp, emails will be a better choice for business now and in the near future.

Yeah, we believe that it is a professional way but do we know if it is secure? Are your personal and business emails read by your email service provider? The answer is, probably yes. Many email service providers like Gmail have admitted that your emails are read by them!

To many, this is a problem but for Sunit Nandi it became an opportunity for him to help people to tackle it. Sunit Nandi is a 26 years old Ph.D. student from IIT Guwahati. Sunit has introduced a solution to the privacy issue faced while using other email service providers, and it is called Letter.

Letter is a privacy-oriented email service provider found by Sunit Nandi. So, how did Sunit’s journey start? How can Letter help us towards a more secure future with emails? Let’s find out!

Sunit’s journey as an entrepreneur:

It all started when he was 18 years old, in 2012. While in college, Sunit started an e-magazine called Techno FAQ. His e-magazine covered most of the interesting niches like science, technology, business, education, computing, and more.

He used to spend most of his time finding topics for his e-magazine. According to Sunit, most of his free time was consumed by his e-magazine. He loved what he was doing! With all his passion and hard work, just within 2 years, he was able to grow his magazine enormously.

His magazine was daily visited by enough people to let him do deals with many business owners who wanted to advertise their business. He continued his work on Techno FAQ and acquired 2 more e-publications by 2019.

His 2 new websites were Tekh Decoded, focusing on consumer electronics, and nixFAQ which focused on Unix-family operating systems, hardware, and apps running Unix-family OS.

After a few months he started generating enough funds to hire a team for his websites in order to get some free time for himself. What he did with his free time was life-changing for him!

Why did Sunit develop an email service provider?

As he used to send business emails and more using Gmail while he managed his websites, he was really frustrated about the privacy issues that these companies caused.

After some months, Sunit decided to self-host his emails for better privacy. He used his own email solution to store his email data and send emails. He continuously added more and more features to his server for his ease of use. As he had total control over everything, he also started to tighten his security. After using his own email server for some years, he saw it as an opportunity. He wanted to make his own email hosting solution public. One day, he sat with his team and decided to start improving his email hosting for public use.

He and his team were really excited about it. “I set up and optimized a scalable private cloud with bare metal servers owned or leased by me in different locations in the world and moved the entirety of my business infrastructure onto it,” Sunit says.

He named his email provider as Letter. Letter lets you control and customize almost everything associated with your emailing platform. It also comes with a wide range of features that are necessary for a business but are not found in most email providers.

With all those features and an extra layer of encryption, Letter becomes one of the most secure and cost-efficient email providers.
