Hyderabad Black Hawks Begin With a Fine Victory

Around 180 players registered for the trials, while 105 players participated in the selection process.

Goa: The Hyderabad Black Hawks, a franchise of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL), picked four players from Telugu speaking states during the Under-21 trials held in Vijayawada.

Around 180 players registered for the trials, while 105 players participated in the selection process. Following the trials, 12 promising players were selected for the final Hyderabad Black Hawks squad, including four — Karthik from Guntur, Dheeman from Visakhapatnam, Srunik from Peddapalli and Akshith from Warangal — from the Telugu states.

Along with them, Shubham Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Deepak (Haryana), Ayaz Ahmed (Jammu & Kashmir), Sarthak (Madhya Pradesh), Pratik (Karnataka), Suresh Kumar (Tamil Nadu), Rizwan (Tamil Nadu) and Shankar (Tamil Nadu) also impressed during the trials and secured their places on the team.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Black Hawks made a winning start to the Under-21 Goa Guardians Trophy, which began in Goa on Friday. Hyderabad registered a convincing 3-0 victory — 15-8, 15-13, 16-14 — in their opening match against Bengaluru.

As many as 10 teams from the Prime Volleyball League, including the Hyderabad Black Hawks, are participating in the tournament.
