Apple iPhone: A decade of evolution

A decade ago when Steve Jobs pulled the first iPhone from Apple's bag of technological tricks.

When the first iPhone was launched by Apple, it showcased something which was relatable to current age iPhones with its layout, fonts, and a natural touchscreen interface.
2016: Apple revealed the most-advanced' iPhone, the iPhone 7 series. With its launch Apple eliminated the traditional headphone jack and introduced Jet Black and Glossy colours.
2015: iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were launched boasting pressure sensitive screen with 3D Touch gesture, Taptic Engine and Rose Gold colour.
2014: Apple launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with bigger screen size, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch respectively.
2013: Apple launched upgraded version of iPhone 5, the iPhone 5s, integrating fingerprint sensor in its home button. Later during the year, Apple unveiled cheaper and colourful version of iPhone 5S, the iPhone C.
2012: Apple launched iPhone 5 with bigger screen. It also switched to Lightning connectors from dock connectors.
2011: iPhone 4S the phone which really broke all barriers for the company and introduced a slew of new features including SIRI, and a new 8MP iSight camera.
2010: The iPhone 4 brought massive changes in comparison to the 3GS. The new handset brought close to 100 new features including a front-facing camera, sleep/wake button, and headset input. This was also the last smartphone unveiled by Steve Jobs.
2009: While the 3 and 3GS looked alike, the later was much more advanced when it came to performance. The 3GS introduced users to faster operating speeds and snappier performance with the introduction of a faster processor.
2008: Apple released iPhone 3G incorporating App Store and 3G connectivity support. This was the first smartphone to offer browsing speeds that exceeded EDGEwith download speeds up to 1.4Mbps as compared to a max 135Kbps on an EDGE network.
