Aishwarya, Randeep and Richa break down at Sarabjit prayer meet

\"I don't think there is any Pakistan bashing per say in the film. But yes, there are a lot of prisoners over there and some are subjected to atrocities. I am not sure if that happens here as well...If you treat somebody for such things just because of their nationality and not their crime, then, if it happens in India or Pakistan, it is always wrong,\" the actor said at the event.
Randeep Hooda says the film 'Sarbjit' will not show Pakistan in a bad light.
\"It is their (family's) story, their film, they have a birth right to be privy and yet they extended liberty, faith and grace, which is truly commendable. You story does need to reach far and wide,\" Aishwarya said.
Aishwarya who was visibly emotional along with the entire cast and crew after Dalbir's speech, said she was honoured to play the part.
\"Aishwarya is like my younger sister. I saw a lot of me in her. It must've been difficult for her to adapt to Punjabi culture, language. It must've have been emotional for her too. I feel extremely proud of her and Randeep,\" Dalbir said.
Dalbir, whose role is played by Aishwarya in the film, complimented the actress and said she was proud of her.
Randeep said the film merely chronicles the life of a common man, who was stuck between the political climate of India and Pakistan.
The film's entire cast, including actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chaddha, Darshan Kumar and producer Jackky Bhagnani were also present along with Sarbajit's sister Dalbir Kaur, his wife and a daughter.
Sarabjit's family members also broke down at the event and actress Richa Chaddha stepped in to console them.
Aishwarya added, \"It becomes her responsibility when a film is being made on her family and family members. As it happening during the making of the film, people put requests to her to come and meet the unit, have their photo opportunities and she has just been so gracious.\"
A teary eyed Aishwarya said, “Thank you for allowing us into your lives and having faith in all of us. We are blessed that we have got to know you'll and had the opportunity to be the vehicles to translate your story to the world, which is such an important story.”
Randeep further added, \"I hope that after watching this movie, both the governments, whole public opinion changes and it becomes one loving and friendly environment honouring each other as human beings and not just Hindustanis and Pakistanis.\"
Randeep went on to say, \"Because of the enmity between two countries, several people have lost their lives. This is a message for peace and also for humanity.\"
Randeep, who plays Sarabjit in the biopic, said, \"“I can't fathom what Sarbjit must have gone through in the 23 years he spent in jail. But what is even more terrible is what the entire family went through. I am thankful to the whole family; it's not easy to bear your pain and to trust people with your own lives. I am extremely thankful to Omung for being so careful and sensitive while bringing it to light.\"
Director Omung Kumar said, “I had earlier made up my mind to not make another biopic but when I saw her, I decided that this story needs to be told.”
Aishwarya and Randeep stood by Dalbir's side as she spoke about Sarabjit's struggle in the Pakistani jail and how the people and government still need to work on getting 'other Sarabjits' back home.
Randeep, Aishwarya and Richa, who play the leading roles in the film, broke down while Dalbir Kaur delivered an emotional speech at the event.
The prayer meet that saw the entire 'Sarbjit' cast along with Sarabjit's family in attendance, was an emotional event.
