The Drishyam franchise remains one of Indian cinema's biggest success stories, with the original Malayalam films being remade across multiple languages, including Telugu. However, unlike the previous installments, Drishyam 3 has not been remade in Telugu, and the original version has instead been made available to audiences in a dubbed format.

Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph recently shed light on the reason behind the absence of a Telugu remake. According to the director, the climax he conceived for Drishyam 3 may not be readily accepted in other language markets, particularly when adapted for established regional stars. He felt that audiences associated with those heroes might not expect or embrace such an ending, making a remake challenging.

Interestingly, Jeethu revealed that the film is being remade in Hindi, but only after certain modifications. The Hindi makers reportedly expressed reservations about the original climax and requested changes to better suit their audience's preferences. The director agreed, and the Hindi adaptation is currently moving forward with those alterations.

As for the future of the franchise, Jeethu Joseph clarified that Drishyam 4 is not in development at the moment. He admitted that he has not yet cracked a suitable storyline for the next chapter and is not in a position to promise another sequel anytime soon.

Sources indicate that a Telugu version of Drishyam 3 was initially expected to feature Venkatesh, who headlined the successful Telugu remakes of the first two films. However, creative differences are said to have derailed the project, resulting in the remake being shelved for now.
