Tamannaah Eyes Bollywood Biopic After Odela 2?
According to reports, the film is a biopic based on the life of Mumbai’s former Police Commissioner, Rakesh Maria
After the lukewarm reception of her Telugu film Odela 2, actress Tamannaah Bhatia is setting her sights on Bollywood once again. She recently made waves with a sizzling dance number in Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, and now, buzz suggests she's in talks to star opposite John Abraham in Rohit Shetty’s next big project.
According to reports, the film is a biopic based on the life of Mumbai’s former Police Commissioner, Rakesh Maria—one of the most respected and fearless officers in Indian law enforcement history. John Abraham is set to play the titular role, with Tamannaah likely to portray Preeti Maria, the commissioner’s wife.
The film marks the first collaboration between John Abraham and Rohit Shetty, who is aiming to reclaim his box-office dominance after the underwhelming performances of Cirkus and Singham Again. For John, it’s another shot at critical acclaim following the modest reception of The Diplomat.
While both men bring intensity to the screen, Tamannaah’s inclusion adds a fresh dynamic to the narrative. Known for her versatility across South Indian cinema and Hindi films, her presence is expected to elevate the emotional depth of the story.
The biopic will delve into Rakesh Maria’s career highlights, including his role in investigating the 1993 Bombay bombings and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. With a powerful real-life story and a star-studded cast, the project promises to be one of Bollywood’s most anticipated dramas.
