Shashwat Sachdev

Composer Shashwat Sachdev, who shot to nationwide fame with Dhurandhar, is reportedly in talks to compose music for the much-anticipated Telugu film Dragon, featuring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel. While there is no official confirmation yet, the possibility of the composer making his second film with a big-ticket Telugu project has generated considerable interest in industry circles.

“I don't know much about it, but I wish he does more Telugu films and raises the bar of Telugu cinema,” says producer Abhishek Agarwal, who is introducing Sachdev to Tollywood with The India House. “I will have that credit, and I am quite happy to work with such a talented musician, who has now become an international star,” he adds.

Abhishek says Sachdev's versatility and musical depth are evident in the four songs he has composed for The India House, featuring Nikhil Siddhartha and Sai Manjrekar. “He has delivered four chartbusters. We have already shot three songs, and each of them is different and refreshing for our period saga,” he says.

On Sachdev's contribution of Rs 300-crore music business generated by the Dhurandhar franchise, Abhishek says he knew the composer even before the film's success. “I have known him even before Dhurandhar, but I got the opportunity to work with him only now. Of course, he has rocked with Dhurandhar. From hits like Mann Atkeya to the Dhurandhar title track, everyone had at least one song they could jam across the two albums,” he adds.

The producer is equally excited about making a hard-hitting film like The India House. “It explores the untold stories of revolutionaries in 1905, and these stories need to be told to the Gen Z audience. They should know how our leaders fought for freedom and that independence did not come easily,” he says.

“Shashwat Sachdev is the perfect choice for this period saga which blends universal themes of love and patriotism in the right measure,” Abhishek concludes.
