Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is gearing up for a crucial theatrical release with her upcoming film Maa Inti Bangaram, which she has both produced and acted in as the leading lady. The film is written by Raj Nidimoru and directed by Nandini Reddy.

Though the makers had initially planned to release the film on May 15, the release was postponed reportedly due to the IPL season affecting theatre footfalls. The team has now officially locked June 19, 2026, as the new release date.

Confirming the announcement, Samantha shared an energetic post on X, writing, “It’s time to pull the trigger,” and added, “Maa Inti Bangaram set to blast theatres on June 19.” The announcement hints at Samantha appearing in a powerful mass avatar in the film.

However, trade circles believe the release date comes with its own challenges. Schools and colleges across many regions are expected to reopen from June 12, which could impact audience turnout, especially for family audiences and younger viewers.

Adding to the competition, Peddi is slated for release on June 4 and is already carrying strong buzz in Tollywood. If the film turns into a blockbuster and continues to dominate screens, smaller and medium-budget films could struggle to secure theatres and collections.

For Samantha, the film is also being viewed as an important test of her solo box-office stamina. Her recent woman-centric films like Yashoda and Shaakuntalam failed to make the desired impact commercially, while her recent production venture Subham also did not generate significant revenues.

Meanwhile, Raj Nidimoru has already established a strong reputation in the OTT space with projects like the acclaimed series The Family Man. Industry insiders believe his creative involvement in Maa Inti Bangaram could play a major role in shaping the film’s success, making it a significant project for both Samantha and Raj.
