S S Rajamouli Unveils Emotional Core of Varanasi

S.S. Rajamouli’s Varanasi is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Indian films, with Mahesh Babu headlining the ambitious project. However, the director’s latest revelation about the film has added a new dimension to the already massive expectations.
Speaking about the project, Rajamouli recently revealed what lies at the heart of Varanasi, describing it as a hard-core spectacle built on a strong emotional foundation. “Varanasi is a hard-core spectacle with emotion as its base,” Rajamouli said.
According to the director, the film’s emotional core revolves around the bond between a father and his son. While Varanasi promises mythology, time travel, action and breathtaking visuals, the father-son relationship is expected to drive the story and provide its emotional depth.
Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra, while Prakash Raj is said to play his father, Maha Shiva Bhakt. Their relationship is likely to form a crucial part of Rudhra’s journey, adding a strong emotional layer to the otherwise larger-than-life adventure.
The film is being mounted on an unprecedented international scale, with the story reportedly spanning seven countries, multiple continents and different time periods.
