The fan organisation RAW NTR, which recently grabbed headlines by announcing large-scale social service initiatives in the name of Jr NTR, has abruptly shut down, triggering fresh speculation on social media.
The group had projected itself as an organisation of Jr NTR's supporters and claimed it would undertake welfare activities worth Rs 100 crore. It also announced ambitious village development programmes under the banner "Ooru-Vaada", leading to widespread discussion about the actor's indirect involvement in public service.
However, in a surprise move, the organisation announced its closure through its official X handle.
"Congratulations to everyone who worked hard to ensure that the organisation was closed," the group posted, without revealing the reason behind the decision.
The announcement has sparked intense debate online, with many questioning the organisation's purpose from the outset. Several netizens asked why RAW NTR was formed, what welfare activities it had actually undertaken, and why it was dissolved within days of its launch.
Others questioned whether the organisation genuinely intended to carry out social service or was merely using Jr NTR's name to gain publicity. Many also wondered why it attempted to launch welfare programmes without the actor's official approval.
The controversy began soon after RAW NTR announced plans to spend Rs 100 crore on charitable activities across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Jr NTR's official team promptly issued a clarification stating that the actor had no connection whatsoever with the organisation.
Following the clarification, several fan associations also distanced themselves from RAW NTR and criticised its activities.
Amid the backlash, RAW NTR representative Sai Roop addressed the media, claiming that efforts were being made to separate the organisation from Jr NTR. However, just four days later, the group announced that it was shutting down.
The sudden closure has only intensified speculation over what prompted the decision. Whether the organisation's representatives will offer a detailed explanation remains to be seen.
